Mary Sumner Day
Summer is here! Instead of the usual Mary Sumner Day church service on the 9th August, this year we are "doing different"..... We will be looking for the Mothers' Union 125th anniversary plaque on Southwold Pier. Full details are in the downloadable information leaflet (below) which explains everything. If wet, we will meet at St Edmunds Church in Southwold from 12 noon onwards, courtesy of the Vicar, the Rev Russ Gant.
There is also a hymn sheet (downloadable below) for a short, informal act of worship at the base of the Pier at around 2.45 pm. We'll have our feather banner there. We are delighted that a few members from the Royal British Legion Band will lead our singing and play appropriate music for us to enjoy. Please bring your hymn sheet with you as we will be singing unfamiliar words to familiar tunes. (The hymns can be printed off doubled-sided on the long edge, and the leaflet double-sided on the short edge). A collection will be taken and shared between the Band and our "Summer of Hope" campaign.
If you have any other questions please contact Linda Ginn.
