Every year, Mothers' Union takes part in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence which is an international campaign. It takes place from 25th November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10th December (International Human Rights Day). The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of, and call for an end to, gender based violence in all forms and in all societies.
MU members can get support the campaign in many ways - by running a vigil or activity in their local community, praying, raising awareness and calling on decision makers to take action.
Resources for planning and running services and other activities can be downloaded from the resources page on the main Mothers' Union website. Alternatively, Viv Buckle of Campsea Ashe benefice MU has very kindly shared her material using sixteen pairs of shoes to reflect on aspects of abuse.
