“What can we do with the children today? – it’s raining….”
Answer: Go on a Treasure Hunt around the Diocese to find our MU Banners!
We are asking everyone to go on a mammoth search to find, photograph and send in the pictures of any MU banner in any church or chapel in our Diocese, during the month of August, and see which Branch can be awarded the highest number of points – one point per banner. Even if you only send in the picture from your own parish church or benefice, that will help us to find them. We need the name of the church, postcode (perhaps a little detective work needed here?) and the picture (banner only – not people). Not an MU member (yet)? – one point per picture can be designated to the branch of your choice! Please send to Linda Ginn
Whilst in the Churches, you could always sign the Visitors Book on behalf of MU, leave an MU card with our web-site address on, or an MU sticker (available from MUe), or just leave a short note to say that you have called by.
This requires a team effort needing planners (visiting the highest number of churches in the shortest possible time), map readers (or Sat nav users), car drivers or bike riders (or onfoot), smart phone-ipad-, tablet- users (to capture the photograph and send in – or failing that, a pencil and paper to draw/sketch), record-keepers (to know where you’ve been), cooks (to make up the sandwiches….) – EVERYONE - getting involved: families, grandparents, great-grandparents, godparents, friends and neighbours
Rules
1. Find as many MU banners as you can.
2. Photograph, draw a picture, or sketch
3. Send to Linda Ginn or post on our facebook page
4. Banner pictures only - no people
5. Identify name of church, postcode, and designated MU branch to collect points
6. Winner to be announced at next Council
7. Pictures will be in a Celebration Photobook, eventually!
Questions to answer, if possible -
Where was the banner situated?
Was the banner easy to find?
Was it clearly visible/accessible?
In what condition did you find it? (1- poor, 5 excellent/new)
Were any other banners/flags nearby?
There is a form here which you can download for you to record the answers to the above questions, and email or post to Linda.
Thank you for your help!
