Malawi has one of the highest rates of child marriage in the world, yet although illegal for girls to marry under the age of 18, many do, and 1 in 10 marry before they are fifteen. However one senior tribal chief, Theresa Kachindamoto, has made it her ambition to stop this practice so that girls can continue their education and have the opportunity to have a career and financial independence.
