Anji Dawkins, co-ordinator for the Church Link Diocese of Kagera in Tanzania, is also an MU member. She writes:
The Mothers’ Union is well and truly alive, not only in our MU link dioceses but also in our Diocesan link diocese of Kagera. In Tanzania there are 815,000 members, a fifth of the world’s membership. In most churches the MU have choirs who take part in every service to share the joy of the Lord. When Bishop Martin and Jutta visited, the MU sang and danced to welcome them. Recently Elkanah, a priest there whose wife is an enthusiastic MU member, sent a video showing the Mothers’ Union service where they ‘gave thanks to God because He was with us in 2020 and we received many blessings’. We have met Elkanah and family on our visits to Kagera. What a lot we have to learn from people who have so little but who thank God for all they have! Interested in Kagera?
