Fressingfield MU have been working to learn about and spread awareness of domestic abuse. Branch leader Christine Christian reports - in an attempt to expand our knowledge and spread awareness about all kinds of domestic abuse, we invited Deb Johnson, fundraising manager at Lighthouse, to speak at our November meeting. Our members brought donations of food and toiletries for her to take back to the Refuge with her. We were delighted with her talk and learned just how many initiatives there are to support women and children in their Refuge. We were also pleased to hear about the way Lighthouse engages with local businesses and schools showing them what a healthy relationship looks like, and how to recognize domestic abuse in all it's forms. We thanked her with the goods in this photo and personal donations in her collecting tin . A report on this meeting will appear in our Benefice newsletter which will reach about 1,500 households.
The Rise Up Campaign materials will go up in our six Parishes again during the 16 Days of Activism. The information about where to find help is already in the public toilets in our churches and village halls. We put it there last year.
