Members in Suffolk have risen to the challenge to sew a big batch of face coverings for Mothers' Union to sell. In July, Mary Sumner House launched a project to help dioceses raise funds by selling handmade face coverings, with £4 per covering being returned to the diocese. Quickly a small band of talented seamstresses got to grips with the rather complex pattern, and created a beautiful set of high quality face coverings which include a filter pocket, just as the government announced that everyone would need to wear a face covering when shopping. We were able to post off fifty five face coverings which have probably already been sold! Sincere thanks to our wonderful team of sewing members - Alwyn, Anna, Anji, Cathie, Jeanette, Joyce, Sue C and Sue N.
The face coverings have proved so popular that we have been asked to sew more! If anyone would like to have a go, or would like the pattern to make face coverings for yourself or family, then let me know and I will send you details - Clare Thomas (01473 832808 or email).
