Woodbridge branch has raised an amazing £430.94 towards our Diocesan appeal for our link diocese in Malawi.
Anne Wright reports:
Our June meeting is always a fund raising event which this year was a cream tea; this raised £200 for the Malawi appeal.
In our Branch we decided to give our collection from the Wave of Prayer service in July to the Malawi appeal - £64.44
Our MU board at the back of church had a map to show where our link dioceses were and information about each one.
Our Rector had asked us to take over the service on 11th August, nearest to Mary Sumner Day. We decided to talk about MU overseas and focus on Malawi. We wrote the front of the pew paper, read the epistle, delivered the intercessions and gave an address on our link dioceses focussing on Malawi. We had asked if there could be a plate at the back of church for donations for Malawi following the talk; this raised another £166.50.
Well done Woodbridge!
