In spite of the wet and windy weather which closed the Orwell Bridge, and in spite of a very important rugby match, the Ipswich Area Coffee Morning was very well supported as you can see in the photos! We had a lovely morning with excellent refreshments, and a great buzz of chat. Each deanery ran a different stall, ranging from tombolas, household goods and cakes to handmade crafts and more. The MUe stall was busy selling Christmas cards, diaries and calendars as well as the usual greetings cards and MU merchandise. The finale was a raffle with wonderful prizes and almost everyone went home with a prize!
By the end of the morning £551 had been raised, some of which will go towards buying Christmas presents for the parents and children in Peppercorn Lodge which is supported housing for young parents and their children in Ipswich. This is a new relationship for Ipswich Area as previously Southwold MU had supported these families.
Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day, those who supported their deanery stall beforehand, and of course those who braved the elements (and missed the rugby!) to come along.
