Grandparent's Day
Everyone is welcome to come to our first Grandparent's Day - bring a friend or two, they don't need to be members!
The programme for the day includes worship, a key-note speaker and a choice of workshops. The sessions aim to encourage, support and affirm you as a grandparent or honorary grandparent of faith.
Doors open at 10.00 and begins with refreshments and an opportunity to browse our Mothers' Union pop-up shop with books and resources for grandchildren of all ages.
The formal part of the day begins at 10.30 with worship, followed by our key-note speaker, Reverend Laura Mumford, the 'Growing Younger' Team Lead. There is then a choice to attend three of the four workshops on offer:
- A prayer-style discussion based on a new painting inspired by scripture: 2 Timothy 5 and Deuteronomy: 6: 6-7 (with permission from Church on the Heath in Elvetham, Hampshire)
- Small group discussion for grandparents with 0–12 year-old grandchildren
- Small group discussion for grandparents with teenage grandchildren
- Mindfulness crafts and activities to share with grandchildren
The day concludes with a short time of worship at 2.15pm.
- Coffee, tea and biscuits are provided.
- PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH.
Please book your free places by booking a ticket online here. Or give Clare Thomas a ring on 01473 832808 to book a free place.
You are welcome just to come for the morning if that works better for you.
