For the next triennium we need some new faces to help out. The new constitution will allow us to have some general trustees who have no specific responsibilities - so this is a great way to join the trustee board and help plan and implement our direction for the next three years. There will also be opportunities to join the new Communities of Interests - and these groups will need people to take the lead roles. During 2021 we want to appoint people to the vacant trustee and officer roles, which are:
Trustee roles:
- Area Rep for North Suffolk area
- Area Rep for Sudbury area
- General Trustee x 3
Officer roles:
- Lead for Faith Community of Interest
- Lead for Development Community of Interest
- Lead for Policy Community of Interest
- Lead for Media & PR Community of Interest
- Membership & DD secretary
- Data Protection officer
- Safeguarding lead
The appendix to the new constitution explains all these roles in more detail, but please do ask Linda Ginn if you have any questions, or talk to any of the existing post holders.
New trustees must be nominated on this nomination form and will be voted in at Council. Officers will be appointed by the trustees, but we need to know who would like to take on these jobs.
We plan to continue having a Zoom facility for our trustee meetings, so location or transport should not be a barrier to attending meetings.
Please really think hard to see whether you could help give back a little bit to Mothers' Union at diocesan level - we really do need more people to share the work, but it is great fun and very rewarding to see new ideas coming to fruition, and you will have the opportunity to help shape what we do in Suffolk. Maybe you can use your existing talents or experience to help MU - are you the safeguarding officer for your parish, could you share that knowledge with MU? Or maybe you would like to get involved with projects in the community and build links with the refuges or prisons, and would like to lead the Development Community of Interest? Whatever your skills or experience we will find you a niche!
