Where we are
We have around twenty members and meet at 2.30pm on the second Tuesday in the month. At our meetings we have speakers, DIY meetings when we have discussions and chats among ourselves and a rather longer worship and prayer session with hymns/songs, a Carol Service and an Annual Corporate Communion - though we also have a corporate communion on every 4th Wednesday in the month at 10.00am. We enjoy an annual lunch out and a garden meeting (in a beautiful garden belong to one of our members).
We run a Fair Trade stall the two Sundays in Fair Trade Fortnight, and hold a cake stall on Whit Sunday - in aid of AFIA.
The local projects we are involved in are giving donations to the Bury Women's Aid Centre and to the food bank 'Storehouse'. We give Baptism cards and do Baptism follow up, we also give wedding cards to the bride and groom at our church weddings. We, together with a loyal band of knitters who are not MU members, make hats for the seafarers.
Our benefice of two parishes has two MU branches - we are always welcome at each other's meetings and often take advantage of the permanent invitation.
We welcome visitors and new members.
